Some questions for Japanese high-rise building facade
Hi, everyone!
Recently, I discuss some Japanese high-rise construction methods with someone in other forums. One thing we don't understand. Compare high-rise building with similar type of RC RSC SC structure recently built in both Taiwan and Japan, why contractors in Japan able to build building structure and facade simultaneously? It never happen in Taiwan. What is facade system Japanese contractors use? If you have some resources or information please give me the link. Thank you! Hint: I don't understand Japanese....

I really only see the facade going up with the building if it's RC construction only. With SC structures it usually comes up later, although quite often very quickly after the steel frame is installed. The facade of the RC buildings is usually made of tiles that are sticked onto the prefab elements that form the outer walls. This makes structure and the facade go up at the same time.

I believe it can be serious question for Taiwan construction industry. Why we need to waste so much time as Japanese contractors are able to install facade so much earlier. ![]() However, it can have something to do with regulation or legalisation which really need go deep for both construction industry to understand the differences. Anyway, thanks Momo! |
