Easy to say this dude, but put yourself in her shoes and tell what you would do. If your dream of building a new TNLA gets demolished by Karuna, who like a fox builds a public library in that same location knowing very well you cannot do anything, you think you will be quiet when you come to power? This project in the first place was never welcomed by majority of the people. He just wanted to build his version of Taj Mahal to get into history books. Am not completely supporting Amma's moves but he deserves this for his selfish act.

She could have done that in her usual style like CMBT, Finish block A and Block B as early as possible, revamp the roads and put HER name on the boards. Atleast our tax money would not be wasted again for another building for the same purpose. If thatha comes he may again change that building to something and search for some other place. Sigh this never stops..

I donno, but heard that he wished to have his samadhi in this new assembly campus itseems, if not in power then at already decided Anna Arivalayam.

I think this is what probably triggered Jaya's anger to the peak.

No point..CMBT was built as a public utility place and so anybody can open it and claim their contribution, but this isnt like that. This is more of a luxury building exclusively for the MLAs and CM, so nobody can claim goodwill out of it. I still feel Jaya has done a wise move. She has shut the DMK down completely. Its best for her not to think about building another secretariat atleast for another 10 yrs. Anyways with min one DMK minister going to jail everyday, Fort St George will be adequate enough to accommodate all the ADMK ministers

The first one is the Assembly Building. (ETA/ECCI)

The second one is the Secretariat building.(VASCON)

I somehow remember the Roman Empire when i see the assembly building. We could have it converted into a Colosseum and see caged fights between gladiators till one kills another. My first pair of gladiators would be JJ vs KK aka amma vs Thatha ha ha

Expenditure on new Assembly complex dome wasteful: CAG

The government auditor termed “wasteful,” the expenditure of Rs.3.28 crore incurred on putting up the temporary structure owing to delay in having the permanent structural dome in place.

The department's reply in September 2010 that the permanent dome could not be constructed without studying and testing the wind effect and shape on such a huge structure was dismissed by the auditor as “not acceptable,” as the consultant, while furnishing the design, had not suggested any such prototype. Moreover, the decision to construct the temporary dome was taken in February 2010, whereas the permanent dome work was entrusted to the contractor in November 2009 itself.

Going into some technical details of the building's construction, the CAG found that there was overpayment to the contractor to the tune of Rs.2.46 crore by adding to the actual length of piles used in the construction while measuring them for computing the payment
