the last building was "Handels- und Gewerbekammer" (1900) in the past, now it is used as polyclinic.. imho one of the best historic buildings in the city.

Strange almost nobody commented on Karaseks pictures
 Awesome job, mate!  Liberec is, besides some Bohemian beauties, a true gem!I should revisit it in the next years, before mass tourism explores it

(reconstruction goes slowly on)        Btw it was nice weather today   Liebieg's castle from a distance  This church is sexy, too..  .. and a tram in Palach St.  One look at Volksgarten..  .. and this is modern face of the city

To byl zase den otevřených dveří na KÚ? Jsem to nějak přehlédl.. Fajn panorámata, za ten rok od posledního přístupu na vyhlídku se opět leccos změnilo...

They really reconstructed the German inscription?! Incredible! Can't believe it!
 This really means a lot to me. Thanks a bunch!  This bath is really one of the most impressive in the region. Hopefully the revitalization will be successful. Here across the border they even closed another bath from the 70s, just to make sure enough people visit the restored old bath (from the 1870s). |

I know the village. Pretty picturesque with a nice mix of Upper Lusatian and Northern Bohemian "Umgebinde"- houses. The village shows impressive nativity scenes in the local school every Xmas. This was a local tradition which sadly got lost after '45.
I noticed the memorial too. Maybe it was preserved because of a pretty strong German minority? There are many newer German graves on the local cemetery, which is pretty unusual. It's also heartwarming to see how the wayside crosses in the Jizera mountains are maintained today. |
