I like Dowaran Shobra and Mowaten X, although I haven't rigorously followed them both.

My favourite Ramadan series of all time was "Ezzo hamada ezzo". I watched every second of it.
Does anyone know where I can find this series online or in stores, I'd be forever thankful.

You guys didn't watch 3abed kareman? Ragol men haza al zaman : mustafa musharafa? You guys must be boring :P I watched 2mins of tamer honsy's Adam and it was boring as well and I felt stupid watching it sorry but I did.
Out of that list which is incomplete I liked el keber awii 2 and 3ares deliviry. Though they only showed 15 episodes of el keber ![]() Other nice things I saw 2nd part of the national team series, essam wel mesba7 (essam.tv), samara and btw the last option you have it's no called kaydahom it's called kayed el nessa. Though I'm kind of missing out as we're in the last ten days of Ramadan so I'll have to catch up afterward on YouTube

There was nothing good this year, I can't stand these modern "hip" sitcoms..it's pure torture when other people want you to watch with them. Just endless pun joke, after another with the added slapstick to mix it up. My friend keeps youtube clips on his phone, begging me to "tab bas shoof di!" I can't even crack a smile over this...especially Muwaten X.
Hell, not even the hidden camera shows are any good (the elevator one...forgot it's name). At least there's still that taxi driver thing, that's the only good one that's still showing. God, I wish they'd bring back the show with the cross dressing fat guy.

Mowaten X
Watched Al Mowaten X.. Excellent series. I watched 30 episodes in one week with my wife!!
We also started watching Dowaran Shobra, but it was going too slow and didn't get past the first episode. Does it get more interesting? Should I keep watching? Going to see if Adam & Khatem Soleiman are any good as well. Quote:
Overall, I find most modern egyptian movies and shows pretty boring or silly. They lack the substance in the older movies of the 60's and 70's. Al Mowaten X was an exception to this in my opinion. Great show and very highly recommended. Last edited by smoka; September 16th, 2011 at 08:23 AM. |

First of all, welcome to SSC Egypt ya smoka
make sure you introduce yourself if you wish down here,http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1070947 Back to the topic, what I don't like about the Egyptian media in general is that everyone sticks to one freaking genre. Like everyone sing pop music, everyone make romance films and series and so on. I know recently this has began to chance, but still when we moved kn from romance people still do the same thing, today we either have historical or just daily life kind of stuff. And some stick romance in these genres too. But that's not the kind of stuff we want come-on I want to go to the cinema and see a list of films from different genres, a comedy, Sci-Fi, action, romance, animation, horror and so on Also we need a freaking rating system, it's either 18 or everyone can watch it. This is pathetic! They make a film and people start complaining about strong language used. Using strong language isn't wrong it makes the films realistic this is reality really but a 12 years old should be watching such film b/c they are in a phase in live where they are learning they need educative films. While a mature person would watch such films. We need a bigger media industry and to do that we need to promote short films and encourage there makers by prizes and money support to make even more, we need more than one media city damn it. It also need to be publicly or privately owned not state owned. Also I understand we take pride of the Arabic language and stuff, but also we need to promote attempts to make films in the Egyptian Coptic language or perhaps English, French and so on. One or two films in different language every year won't hurt will it? b/c this way we can start playing in the international industry rather than just the Arabic speaking world one ![]() But he that's just my opinion.
