I love how the HTC Desire HD isn't on the poll, what's going on!!

HTC announced which phones will be getting Android Ice Cream Sandwich, Desire HD, one of their best selling phone, arn't even mentioned. Seems all that really matters to them is the Sensation, disappointed HTC

Had it for a year now, got another year with it on this 24 month contract!
IF you have time, look at the Birmingham Forum at some of the photo's i have taken with this phone, the camera is great on it!

Think it won't get ICS as it's single core (don't quote me though), the minimal requirements for the OS are dual core. There was also a suggestion the 720p display was the bare minimum but turns out be false as the GS2 still uses the 800 x 480 resolution and will be getting the update.

Not sure about the Core, but they also said they would be bringing HTC Sence 3.0 out to the DHD either, seems like we won't we getting any update at all.

Me too - I bought a "refurbished" Desire HD for £130 (translation: the outer box was badly damaged) when I lost my Desire, so I now have two lots of accessories (translation: two chargers). My contract expires in February, but I'll probably stick with what I have if they offer me cold hard cash.

Got the 4S, my first Apple smartphone.

Other than the poor battery time it's fantastic.

Not sure how you can describe the Galaxy S II as ‘kludgy’. It’s got wonderful aesthetics.

my current one htc sensation xe

but i will return it soon and get this white colour xl version it comes with hd solo headphones

if your a proper audiophile like myself these phones are definitely the ones for you, the sound comes out from the headphones is crystal clear and amazing. my one is 24th months contract, only £25.50 a month, and i get 600 mins, 500 texts and unlimited internet/data on t mobile network, plus the handset is free. its a fantastic deal really and much cheaper than the iphones

Love the XL works like butter this side of the GS2. By the time your contract expires circa 2013-14, smartphones will have come a very long way from my very very ancient Nokia 6310i which I unashamedly admit still use as a spare from time to time, very reliable considering its age. Already HTC have announced the TEGRA 3 Quad Core enabled HTC Edge for 2012.

Blackberry Bold 9900

Not the best for multimedia, but the ultimate communication device.

Well I was mostly joking to Monkey. That said at heart I agree with what I said buy am reluctant to bring it out innserious conversation as Android and Apple threads tend to get overly emotional.

I was referring to the interface not the external design.

I've only played with one but it seemed like typical Android. I temporariy had a Froyo based phone as my only phone for 3 weeks and my opinion of the OS really plummeted in that time. Gingerbread seems better but not by much. iCS looks more promising but personally Id Ike to see a rethink including ditching the menu button.

I can't presently see me moving form Apple but I'd look to Microsoft if I did. Thats surprising to me as I much prefer google software to Ms and had HTC phones for several years which at the time I liiked in many ways but I felt were let down by WinMo.

The way idiots chuck the phrase "user expiermce" around makes it sound like nonsense but IMO they are right. The gulf between iOS and Androind is huge at present.

What iPhones really cost: We reveal, piece by piece, what it actually cost Apple to make the 4S

It might have underwhelmed the devotees, but sales of Apple’s iPhone 4S topped four million in just three days following last month’s launch, and it’s still the must-have smartphone this winter. Of course, those sleek looks don’t come cheap. Or do they?

Out of contract, the iPhone 4S will cost you £499, but we can reveal that the nuts, bolts and high-end circuitry inside cost far less – see below for the total.

Expert analysts from technology firm iSuppli have prised open the pristine casing and totted up the cost of each component.

Some are reassuringly expensive – the touchscreen and display unit cost £23 – but others are less confidence-inspiring.

Next time you’re cursing the battery life, remember it’s only worth £3.68.
