I think the explanation to this tarmac was conveyed while back, - this was meant as the private apron for the Marcoses, the commercial one was supposed to be on another side, but then the dictatorship was toppled, thus this tarmac was left as is. That's why Imee is lobbying for an expansion, but you know who's the president now, so what can you do, wounds don't heal that easily.

I wonder if they have any plans to paint those roof? It's such an eyesore. If they do not want to keep on repainting it, they could of used shingles or that ceramic tegulla shingles for that room. The terminal is still nice although they can do better than that.

kailangan din ng Laoag International Airport na lakihan yung departure area nila, pag nagkakasabay kasi flight ng Cebu Pacific at PAL halos wala ka ng maupuan.

sa lahat ng airport sa northern luzon, yung LIA ang pinakabusy at may pinakamaraming flights, pero ibang mga airports inaupgrade ng government yung mga wala pang market talaga.

Recently naman may expansion na ang LAO, I think bago pa bumaba si Arroyo sa puesto, natapos na ito dahil may mga pictures dito nuong nakaraan. I think that was the arrival area at nasama na ang area para sa Duty Free shop.

You can tell this is the extension part, the floor tile is different.

Nice photos but my design sense tells me the old one has a better scale and proportion than the old one!

I was not talking about the design of the terminal, my focus was more on recent expansion since someone said something about LAO wasn't getting any getting any upgrade recently especially when the person mentioned something about expansion in the predeparture section of the terminal.

I just hope they have a plan on repainting the red roof of the old one. It looks off with a nicely-painted roof of the Terminal 2.

Before I begin posting photos, I'd like to apologize because this will be another flood of random photos.

We went to Laoag over the weekend thanks to the free tickets Cebu Pacific gave us. The Laoag International Airport looks really nice, it has this classic vibe into it. I hope that they improve the amenities inside the airport (we had to go outside and briskly walk for 5 minutes just to buy some Ilocos empanada, but that's just me being nitpicky).
