your right, it does look too big for a city that size...the design seems okay at least

I disagree with you guys. It is within a 40 minute driving distance from Addis. It would thus be serving both places.Perhaps not conveniently, but ah well, it could help spur the growth of Nazret/Adama as it seems to be lagging now. |

We need new large stadiums to develop our football league, as it's a major source of income. |

Every major town has a plan to build a modern stadium since forevere. I don't think any off them did any good except "nekemet" if i remmbered correctly. Ethiopian football federation and its supordinates are too corropted to pull of such project.
What happen to the goal project supposed to be built in AMBO which was planned when i was in a football project like 10 years ago? noone knows. what happen to the big stadium planned in addis near bole medhanielm? what hapened to st georgy stadium near lideta? what hapened to mekelle stadium, i think this one downscaled aand built. what happen to BD stadium? I don't think it will be realized in 20 yrs.

That's been there forever, the zoo is going there, no? The Nat'l Stadium should be torn down, it's sitting on prime real estate.

Simfan,
I agree completely that the current national stadium is in the wrong location. Plus it is probably the ugliest and sorriest stadium I have ever seen! ADAMA stadium, on the other hand, looks like its gonna be everything a stadium should be Yosef, I think 'ADAMA' stadium would be somewhere in ADAMA and not in Addis. |

here is an updated pic of whatever that is that is being built in Bole...looks like the construction has progressed a bit further. Not sure if its the Bole stadium or not but it sure does have an interesting design. Source: Google Earth recent update
![]() As far as the Abebe Bikila Stadium, Ill see if I can find anything on it. Info on projects in towns outside of Addis are a bit harder to find obviously. |
