remember that this is an overpass. the only way this is being replaced is if it iss tunneled. (or they completely get rid of it, which would be horrible for traffic flow)

We've been waiting on cladding now for months. Hopefully it will look as good as the render.

They were installing what looked to be curtain-wall on the north east corner this morning. I'll try to post some i-phone pics this week or I'll head out with my SLR and tri-pod at night. they've also surrounded the side facing the river with huge boulders n doubt for flood protection. I hope they plan on landscaping on top of it otherwise it will just act like a huge trap for litter.

They're taking their time with the cladding on this one, though all of the phases are looking pretty damn good with some great choice of materials. No blue or green glass yet (fingers crossed), and lots of brick as well.

A really nice street-scape shaping up.

The name of this project reminds me of the classic video game "River City Ransom". Hopefully the streets of this new neighbourhood turn out to be less violent than the ones in the game.

It's a very interesting looking development. They should be commended for breaking from the typical glass condo point tower. I'd be fine if we never saw another one of those again.

As soon as the landscaping is done I think this will instantly become one of the best new areas in the city. It truly is much more urban then City Place. I'm hoping that the scale is continued through the Canary District to the distillery, with wide sidewalks and narrow streets.

TB you should go for a stroll down there, there is a lot to see right now.

On a side note, drilling has started for a building on the north side of the distillery on Parliament. Does anybody know what it's called?

The building on Parliament, just south of Front will be a data centre. It's not very useful for animating the neighbourhood but it has a decent design. There is a picture of it on UrbanToronto. I just wish they would have put a few small retail spaces, along the Parliament Street side of the centre. After-all, it will be facing the new public square, so a restaurant or coffee shop would have been nice here.

I definitely will, but am waiting till it warms up a bit.
I rode my bike down to ICE and back home again today and after suffering a positively swirling dust-storm down there, nearly froze my tush off.

Next time cross over the bridge and have some lunch at Prohibition. It's a true Gastro-Pub worthy of calling itself that.

I have a good view of this being built from where I'm currently sitting. The company I work for is moving it's servers to Toronto because (apparently) this city has great infrastructure for data centres.

Also, I agree with the comments regarding River City - it's looking good. Really looking forward to this are of the city becoming better integrated - lots of potential.
