SUBANG JAYA (Nov 24): Sime Darby Property, the property arm of Sime Darby Bhd, recently saw strong take-up at the launch of its new condominium development dubbed Isola in Subang, Selangor on Nov 11. During the launch, 75% of the 115 units open for sale were taken up by a mix of home buyers and investors.

Located along Jalan SS16/1 in Subang, the development is situated on 2.17 acres of freehold land and has a gross development value (GDV) of RM220 million. With two 16-storey towers that house 216 units of apartments, the units have a built-up area of between 1,023 sq ft to 4,133 sq ft, with a starting price of RM679,888. Out of the 115 units that were made available during the launch, 85 units had been purchased within hours of the launch.

Facilities for Isola include a resort-themed podium, swimming pool, playground, multi-purpose hall, gymnasium and mini forest. Isola — which means "Island" in Italian — is located in a central location, with access to major highways and transportation hubs as well as established business districts including private medical and public facilities.

"I salute our customers for their confidence in the market. We are together in making the current landscape of the property sector active and attractive," said Sime Darby Bhd Group COO and Sime Darby Property managing director Datuk Abd Wahab Maskan.

Wahab added that Sime Darby is confident that its products will continue to match market and consumer needs in terms of prices and product requirements amid the sector's cautious outlook for the coming year.

"Prospects will continue to be strong, especially for properties built by reputable and sustainable developers in city centres, growth areas such as Klang Valley and other urban centres," Wahab said. "The positive response to Isola is clearly reflective of this."
