The riverfront look really decent and the design isn't outstanding. Got to wait for the finishing and take a closer look to judge on it more

That's an awesome panorama! But don't you think the land is kind of small for three 28-storey buildings?

Another place to photograph this next time when it comes up would be from Habiba Suites. Do you think its possible to photograph it from Wisma Perkasa?

Err, what's with those green things half way up? IMO, it ruins the look. Other than that, the building looks good.

Kota Kinabalu: Plans for reduced traffic congestion, tourism outlet accreditation, improved city facilities, city carnival attractions and a tourism bus service are currently on City Hall's agenda to bring in more tourism dollars in a bigger way to the city.

City Hall Director General Datuk Yeo Boon Hai and City Hall Tourism, Culture and International Relations Advisory Board Member Datuk Nancy Ho laid out the plans at a dialogue session with tour operators here Wednesday.

"They asked us for example what were we going to do about the road congestion from 1 Borneo to the city centre. The Public Works Department's answer to that is that they are going to create a new lane but it will take them a bit of time to finish it."

"They also requested for example tourist bus parking facilities which we are going to provide for in our transportation masterplan."

Yeo said the operators also complained about the state of the city's current bus terminal opposite Wawasan Plaza.

"They said the Wawasan Bus transit terminal was dusty but we are currently in the process of upgrading the terminal with a RM8 million project for it to be a modern facility.

"It will also feature a connecting overhead footbridge to connect the bus terminal to Wawasan Plaza similar to the one in 1 Borneo.

It has already started. The site was handed over in July this year."

Yeo said City Hall will also be improving the city's five foot pedestrian walks and public lighting.

"We will also be improving the city's five foot ways. This is following complaints from the public that the five foot ways are irregular.

We plan to improve it but it will be a stage-by-stage process.

We are also going to improve the street lighting in the city for better security," he said.

On another note Yeo revealed plans to address the street children issue after City Hall has addressed the issue of street beggars and sleepers.

Ho, meanwhile, said City Hall and Sabah Tourism Board will also be launching its "Fair Trade Tourism Select Accredited Outlets" programme for businesses involved in the tourism Industry.

"Businesses will be judged on aspects such as price, service and variety of goods and accredited businesses will be given a special logo for them to display on their shop doors and their listing will also appear on City Hall's website for tourists to know.

"The programme's official launching will be on Jan 12 and more details will be given then.

"We have already identified the first shop and we welcome any shops that think they can fit the bill and fit the standard to apply for accreditation.

They can get the form from the City Hall website and apply to us," she said.

Ho said City Hall would also like to highlight its 'rats for money' programme.

"It is everybody's responsibility to keep Kota Kinabalu clean.

So please join us in our "RM1 a rat" programme to make KK a 'rat free' city. She said it was launched three months ago but so far the response has been lukewarm.

"We will intensify the anti-rat campaign further.

The campaign is still currently ongoing and you only have to bring the rats to City Hall to claim the cash reward every working day," she said.

Ho also talked at length about City Hall's plans to have more tourism night and day markets and also a city tourism attraction bus programme.

"We plan to have more night and day markets which will feature corners where artistes can perform and people can showcase their art .

If this pilot project event is successful, we will expand the concept to other parts of the city."

She said the venue for the night and day market event which will be called 'Carnival City' will be at City Square which is the area in front of Promenade Hotel and it will be held from 5pm to 2am every Friday.

She revealed the move was actually in response to requests by tourists to the city for such an event.

"When they come to KK they feel that there is not enough night and day markets available for them to explore and shop. So this programme is also in line with Malaysia's goals to make the country into a shopping paradise," she said.

Ho also revealed about City Hall's future plans for a 'Hop on, Hop off' bus service for tourists.

"We haven't started it yet but with this bus service, tourists can visit numerous tourism attractions in the city with stops at popular places such as the Atkinson clock tower, Tg Aru beach, State Museum, Taman Perdana, Sutera Harbour and also the Handicraft Market.

"Tourists to the city can just hop on and off using one ticket and they just just wait for the next bus to get to the next attraction.

"So this is a very important tourism oriented programme and we hope to be able to get it done," she said.

It must be costing someone big money they have been pumping it out but it is a mud bath down there. Just as well i did not have my car parked in the basement

From what I heard last time, they'll be using back the piling and the design might retained or change but no one is going to dug up all the piling that has be done.

The contractor is constructing the basement and I couldn't see if its done or not. Swimming pools easily formed on basements when heavy rain Btw, the contractor for this project is the same as the one building Jesselton Residences
