I dont think this has been posted before. You can see the top of the ATC tower on the right hand side.

No No No!
We dont want Mumbai to become a concrete hell like in that pic. There is nothing wrong with the Mumbai pic above, has lots of trees & that part of Mumbai isn't too dense like New York. |

i agree..but sadly thats the way the city will be headed eventually..what might come to the rescue is the unplanned roads and constructions that will prevent a NY style organised development.

+1, seriously thats just concrete blocks placed next to each other. The art deco buildings omarine drive loo better than those with coconut trees and lots of greenery in between

^ +1. Mumbai is fine the way it is. More super talls in place of slums are obviously welcome but really what Mumbai needs is good dirt/dust free roads, lane markings, nice usable footpaths and LOT of civic sense among pedestrians, drivers and planners. Good pic Swapbeck.

Out of those two pics, Mumbai actually looks better. New York looks like a concrete slum in that pic.

Exactly!
Thanks for agreeing guys. Look at the greenery! Kamla Nehru Park further down & all the rows of trees in between the buildings is just superb. Antilia is turning green hehe. Dont get me wrong, I love New York but that above pic looks ghastly to me. I suppose if there was more greenery it wouldn't look so bad. Pics of Central Park with the surrounding buildings is more pleasant to the eyes. |
