Hey, since I like both old and new architecture, I´m also very intrested in the kind of urban renewals that was very common back in the days of the super economic boom of the 1950-60´s in Sweden, but also common in the entire western world of course. But I actually think Sweden is a top example of it, especially since nothing here was damaged at all in WW2...

Therefore I´ll probably post quite a bit in this cool thread!

Starting of with a real gruesome example from my hometown Gävle.

After - it´s an extension to the nice hotel visible to the left in both pics.


What you guys think of it?
Me myself I tend to like some of the functional architecture and other modern types, but this is of course quite horrible! The ones I like is often the unique quality architecture of that time!
