Came across this unconventional map of Minneapolis skyway system. It uses subway-map style color lines and dots to delineate different "routes" within the maze of skyways. Buildings act as "stops" along multicolored routes, which are determined depending on streets a skyway crosses.

^Now that's brilliant. They should implement it, along with new carpeting or other color cues that matches the routes!

That really catches the eye, which in and of itself serves a good purpose...especially if the map were posted frequently throughout the system.

Avian001, I love your idea of color cues!
