Since you say you don't see many Malaysians begging, you are assuming that there are many Indonesians begging in Jakarta, Medan and other Indonesian cities too? Show us pictures of that....I long to see them.

buy AirAsia ticket...see yourself la. .

and when did i mentioned many indonesian begging?.

just to say that i'm grateful to be here in Malaysia even i'm not rich.
some ppl are greedy and not being thankful. always complaining even their stomach are full.pot pet pot pet.

anyway millions of Indonesian flocking to Malaysia/Spore/Taiwan/UAE /etc to earn a living. that justify the situation.

Can we guys move on.

It seems that PNB need to get this moving regardless of the Elections. Earthworks for this project probably will take few years.

In fact, how do you know that wealth distribution is not getting worse in Malaysia compared to Indonesia? Remember, we started out richer in the 60s.

in Malaysia it is hardly to see malaysian begging for money (the side of the road, etc). mostly are foreigner beggars.
don't blame me if I love to poke my nose since you people are talking about my country

I believe we are educated people here, and educated people shouldn't easily draw a conclusion based on unreliable data or err gossip...

Indonesia population number is much bigger than Malaysia, of course the presence of poor and rich is more obvious there. However, it doesn't mean that Indonesia has higher income inequality or unequal wealth distribution..the indicator widely used to measure income inequality in a country is Gini coefficient... the highest Gini coefficient of a country, the highest income inequality it has...

Now let's take a look at Indonesia vs Malaysia Gini coefficient.

Indonesia Gini coeff (2009): 36.8
Malaysia Gini coeff (2009): 46.2
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ty#cite_note-4

So, based on Gini coefficient, Malaysia has higher income inequality among its population compared to Indonesia..

Ok I'll stop derailing this thread, just clarify things... nice discussing with you folks... bye2...

actually "discussion" is my polite expression to say "funny comments'

but I agree with you, that's why I was wondering what Jakarta Tower, Indonesia beggars and wealth distribution have anything to do in this thread?
And it seems nobody complaining until I verify some data

Exactly, as Malaysians, why do we have to put down others to make ourselves feel better? Let's leave other countries out of this thread I say!

Merdeka tower would be a great building to have in KL if it is not surrounded by controversies that it is another of the government's pet project. I am very sure people were excited about Plaza Rakyat when it was announced to be constructed many years ago. Why can't the problem with this abandoned project be fixed before embarking on another very expensive project?

Because nobody in the right mind would pay Global U.... Sdn Bhd... RM1 to 5 billion compensation for taking back the project.

Mann... I wouldn't as well.
