Even if the picture is available at the projects website. This is an illustration of how the interscetion between motorway 501 and Outer Ring 2 will look like in 2013 when the project is completed. Motorway 501 will pass under Ring 2 in a rather complex junction.

Illustration from www.marselisboulevard.dk

This new junction has been needed for a long time and the same goes for the expansion of Åhavevej. The need for a harbour tunnel is more questionable.
This old intersection between Viby Ringvej, the motorway and Åhavevej needs the upgrade. It has looked basically the same for the last 30 odd years.
Also a good thing to get the Brabrandsti seperated from Ringvejen...

Wow, that intersection is pretty awesome by Danish standards!

Wow - epic intersection - looks like some of the stuff they build down here in the middle east, except they don't really bother with the bicycle lanes. Huge upgrade, will be interesting to follow.

Edit - 1 observation based on the video:
I am a little surprised that when coming from the motorway and wanting to turn right onto Viby ringvej, there is a signal. Why not have an extended sliproad that merges into the lanes of the ringvej, making right hand turns nice and easy...

What say you to the idea of merging this thread with the AARHUS | Transport & Infrastructure thread? The activity in a merged thread would most likely increase.

I still think the light rail should have its own thread because a lot of news and debate concerning future stages are still expected. What are your opinions?
