I too agree with you saraprobe.forget every thing,at leat he could finish 3 decade long war, which non of the other leaders could nt do,and non of the other leader did nt even dreamed to finish it from a war.so far he is the best leader sri lanka had.so we should forgive him for the minor things.

He is indeed the best leader Sri Lanka has ever had. Juggling the war effort, external and internal factors, the economy, a pathetic selfish media, a short sighted selfish opposition, vicious propaganda from within and out of the country and ensuring the war was never halted in its tracks despite the use of Sri Lanka’s own political/administrative mechanisms to “stop the war” in addition to not playing politics with it as all done by JR, Premadasa, CBK and Ranil is a great achievement. The pressures exerted on him by the Worlds powers are something anyone else would have cracked under and given in, allowing the LTTE leadership escape and the "call to arms" continue. Thus war, insecurity and misery and the threat of such would be ever present in Sri Lanka. It was no easy task.
Naturally he has been rewarded in election after election. However his ministers are out of control and fattening their pockets, this is something that the people will stop taking lying down soon. Currently there is no alternative based on the pathetic situation of the Opposition and I frankly do not want them getting anywhere near Governance in Sri Lanka till they change entirely (as in new faces, new people, new attitudes and new policies -not these same set of ugly goats we have). There is no if or buts when it comes to the territorial integrity of the country. There is no compromise when it comes to National Security and the Sovereignty of the nation. Important lessons the morons in the opposition benches need to get through their thick skulls and transcend into their stupid tongues. However naming almost everything after MR is plain stupid. Don’t know which sycophants ideas these are (i’m sure they are doing it to get a “look at me I’m a good boy” tag). But MR should say: “no”. The buck stops with him. I don't mind one or two things, but so many? Thank goodness the expressway wasn't named after him otherwise we'd get this: "Mahinda Rajapakse Southern Expressway Gateway to wonder". Like I said before, things like this should be named after our fallen soldiers. |

A bit of Architecture 101 for you ; Not all architecture needs to be in harmony with the environment or the surroundings, this is a basic principal that has been practiced throughout the world. If you had seen the winning design of that "competition" *hint *hint, I'm sure you would probably feel happy that it was not constructed, even though the basic concept of the Nelum Pokuna was kept in the final design.

Thanks, Did anyone notice that Three-wheeler guy stops just behind the stop line? I'm stunned! It's awesome to see that lanes are properly drawn. Cool!
