Does anyone know Korean sports clubs revenues?

http://www.stadiumzone.weebly.com

has a list with the 422 richest sports clubs in the world, but only one
Korean club is in the list (LG Twins). They're number 362 of the world
with a revenue of €24 million. Does anyone know more (K-League) revenues?

the city clubs' revenues (like incheon, daejeon, daegu) are probably available somewhere online. the company clubs, maybe not. though, i'm betting, somewhere in the financial reports of samsung, posco, hyundai, you could find it.

Choi Seung Hoon, Left Guard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

http://www.omaha.com/article/2011092...709219735/1001

Quote:
LINCOLN — Here's how kids — including college football players — can be: They'll find the one thing that seems different about you and pick at it.

And so as Washington's defensive linemen crouched in their stances last Saturday, they saw 290-pound junior Nebraska left guard Seung Hoon Choi and had some fun with his size and ethnicity.

Maybe the Huskies thought that Choi — a native of Seoul, South Korea — might get rattled. Some players would. But what Washington didn't know — what it couldn't know — is that Choi isn't rattled by much.

His parents — San Jo Choi and Yu Mi Chu — sent him to the United States at 14 years old in search of a college education. He was supposed to be with his uncle — then a researcher at the University of Nebraska. He instead lived in an apartment with his sister and six cousins.

He moved 13 times. He also lived with four host families from Lincoln Christian High School.

"I know how to pack and unpack," Choi said Monday.

When he arrived, he knew this of the English language: the alphabet, yes and no.

"When people asked me questions, all I said was 'yes' or 'no,' " Choi said. "People still make fun of me over that."

Quick: Rattle off the Korean alphabet.

Now: Say "yes" and "no" in Korean.

Now: Learn English while moving 13 times and living with four families.

Now: Do all that and live far from Seoul, away from your parents. Call them all the time, like Choi did, asking to come home.

Now: Throw football into that mix at Lincoln Christian High School as he learned English and the American culture. Six years later, he's starting at Nebraska.

"The road that guy's traveled to get here is unbelievable," NU sophomore tackle Jeremiah Sirles said.

This is what Washington's defensive line didn't know. What's really different about Choi isn't his size or ethnicity: It's his journey.

"He's actually kind of an extraordinary person," said Roxane McCoskey, a kind of second mother to Choi in America, who wore his No. 77 jersey to Saturday's game. "He's very charismatic. He's not really a life of the party, but everyone loves him."

McCoskey says this with evident love, but also with observation, as if she's examined the phenomenon of this kid from a distance. He just made people comfortable, she says. He was thoughtful and respectful. Seoul was nothing like Lincoln and yet he made people feel like they fit in better — with themselves.

She worked in the office at Lincoln Christian and knew of Choi from the time he moved to America. Her son, Jared, became best friends with Choi.

People regarded the kid as a curiosity — he was bigger then, well above 300 pounds — who couldn't speak much English but had a knack for football. He got the size from, well, who knows? But the athletic ability came from his dad, a retired police officer who studied judo in college.

"He's probably stronger than me," Choi joked.

The McCoskeys wanted to adopt him, Choi said, but they had only one extra bedroom. Ju-Youn, Choi's sister, was just one year older, and the school wanted to keep the two of them together. Hence the different host families until Ju-Youn graduated after Choi's junior year.

Right about that time, Nebraska defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove saw Choi and invited him to a 2007 summer camp. Even after Cosgrove was sacked, Choi walked on. The goal of his parents was for Choi to attend college. So he'd do that — and play football. He recalled a lesson his parents taught him: Do your best, and however it turns out, you won't have any regret.

He shed the weight he'd gained eating pizza and hamburgers and soon became one of Nebraska's strongest linemen. Remember the short, stocky bulls NU used to roll out on an annual basis on its offensive line? Choi fit that build.

He spent several years on the scout team. In the offensive line room, he was a favorite. Teammates called him panda. Once, two years ago, his parents visited America. They ate dinner with the McCoskeys, Choi translating messages between them. In 2010, Choi played against Western Kentucky in the season-opener. Back to the bench after that.

But he climbed the depth chart in 2011, and when offensive coordinator Tim Beck was in search of some linemen who could block power plays, he fell upon Choi, whose bench press is easily north of 400 pounds.

The week before the Washington game, Choi got word: You might start. Roxane and her husband, Marshall, wanted to know for sure.

"Oh, don't worry about it," Choi told them. "It's no big deal."

But Saturday, the Huskervision screens flashed Seung Hoon Choi as a starter. In better English than you'll probably ever speak Korean, he introduced himself and a got nice pregame roar from the Memorial Stadium crowd.

"I was just overwhelmed," Roxane McCoskey said. "Tearful but just so happy."

Then the game started, and the trash talk started to fly.

Left tackle Yoshi Hardrick saw Choi hold his own.

C'mon then, he heard Choi say to a Husky. C'mon. And then Choi would mash into that guy on a power play.

"I didn't know he talked that much," Hardrick said.

They kept talking. Choi kept mashing. Nebraska rolled to 309 rushing yards the old-fashioned way, on tosses and counters and fullback traps. A brute force that breaks any language barrier.

"I've never had that much fun with somebody on a football field," Hardrick said.

Monday, Choi was asked what he expected to see when he moved to America. He said: Big buildings. Huge people. Fast food.

"But when I first came here my first impression was 'Wow, this is really small,' " Choi said.

But what Choi didn't know then — what he couldn't know — is that while Lincoln defies some stereotypes of the United States, it practically gives a bear hug to another: football. It is, perhaps, among the most American of pursuits, shared by no nation that hasn't imported it from these borders.

"And now he's starting for America's game," Sirles said.

Quote:

Canadians’ enthusiasm for hockey was in evidence during the Korean War, in which 27,000 Canadian troops participated in defence of freedom. Many of these troops were surprised to find in Korea a climate not much different from that which they had left in Canada, with cold winters meaning frozen rivers where they could play their favourite sport.

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the armistice, and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and South Korea, the Canadian Embassy - in collaboration with the City of Seoul, the Pyeongchang Olympics Organization, the Korea Ice Hockey Association, and our sponsors - are proud to commemorate that involvement. On 3 February, 2013 at 0930, the Embassy, with the help of a locally-based hockey group – the Geckos – will be organizing a demonstration game on the ice rink at Seoul City Square, as part of the final day of the skating season in Seoul City.
