I agree, the service lanes are bad at several stretches. The pics were in September though, hence there is an opening in the median third picture.
You can see the toll booth on the other side in the Second snap.

Hi I drove down to bangalore from Mumbai 4 weeks ago and was amazed to fly over this 20 km stretch of road and I thought what a smooth drive home it would be. But was shocked at the end of the tolled road. entered a humongous mess of traffic which lasted up to Yashwantpur station. What is happening there? Traffic was obstructed by some pillars in the middle of the road (for metro I think). How is this place now?

Still as pathetic as ever. You might have to wait another six-eight months, for the viaduct to be completed so that atleast lanes below will be freed up.

There work is going on Namma Metro Project, BBMP ha the plan to make Signal free once the Metro work is over,
