What a naive doubt.Are planes not landing in Mumbai,Delhi etc where there are many high rise buildings far far more than chennai.Why hindrance only around chennai

First point is, this airport has not even come out of imagination stage.. there is no evidence of any actual work in the near future for neither SG nor CG seems to care..

Second, you might have seen more international airports in congested areas like NY JFK. With a certain perimeter around the airport height restrictions apply. Not for miles around.. I mean Kms.
