I think it'd look much better if it was all covered in some reflective material, instead of just putting in windows...
The rendering released by Orascom shows exactly that.

It is most likely being given a face lift for appearance only, sort of like most other things in the North, like the 4 and 6 lane highways with not enough cars for a 2 lane.

I'm curious how feeling will a tourist get through the window of the hotel room after the completion of cladding work..,, watching down around the inner alleys throughout Pyongyang...

It is strangely sad.

Lots of work on the superficial glass, but not so much as what can be done for those in desperate need for a change.

Yeah, you have those Mercedes in the pics, and that shiny glass, but it really is sad. Truly. Not one Mercedes counts for a life in misery.

You know it's not a hotel. It's just a giant missile. And Taekwon V is sleeping underneath getting ready to fight Mazinger Z.

Ryuyong Tower is probably the most powerful looking building to exist. Probably North Korea's famous icon.

So, finally, the RuglyRong Tower Hotel by Travelodge will open in April for a spanking opening night offer of 2s 6d in old, solid, pre Euro debacle, money. With a free Buffet breakfast of pickled sows ass, juniper berries, sawmill porridge and seaweed tea.

It should be a hit, say the big wigs at Travelodge, who expect to average at least 2.5% average occupancy levels and a staff to guest ratio of about 40,000:1

Can't wait.

What is all the whine about?

The hotels in North Korea are shit, this was needed...

In a news article i read that there is going to be a restaurant on the top of it, rotating 360 degrees giving the guests a nice view over the Pyongyang skyline.

I still think they should have left it natural, moved in some soil and let plants and trees grow all over it....It would have become a world famous ruin...Like the country it represents.

I agree, for being North Korea this is a very nicely designed project, it's expected to open sometime this year at the birthday date of Kim Jong Un or something like that lol.
