Creek Towers on Reem Island

I have joined a group of investors who purchased apartments in Long Coast's Creek Towers on Reem Island, Abu Dhabi. Given the extremely poor progress and behaviour by Long Coast, we are seriously pursuing legal options available to us against the developer. We are also keen to have as many other investors in the project join us as possible.

If you are interested in contacting us, please get in touch on 050-2760131 or with my colleague on 050-8324901.

I bought an apartment in Creek Tower 1 in September 2007. I was told in 2010 that due to late completion they would pay a penalty of 1% of what I have already paid every month commencing July 2010 until completion. It is now 20 months and this is just about equal to the balance 20% I need to pay on completion. I have just contacted them to get confirmation and also an up to date completion date. I am awaiting their response. In the meantime I just saw your comments posted last month. Can you let me know what is the latest with this Construction please?

Hi,

I believe construction has not even started yet.

From our discussions with lawyers, we understand that there is a two-part process for pursuing a legal case: (1) hire a law firm to initiate the process (including sending a letter to LongCoast) (2) if the issue isn't resolved through discussion, a local lawyer then has to be hired to fight the case in the court of law.

The first stage has to be done individually, whereas the second stage can be done on a combined basis. I have hired an Abu Dhabi based law firm to start the first process.
