Your suggestions wanted for Leeds Curry Club speakers!

I organise the guest speakers for the Leeds Curry Club - a monthly networking event specifically for property, construction and finance professionals.

We meet every 1st Wednesday of the month at The Aagrah, St Peters Square, Leeds.

I'm currently organising the clubs for 2012 and would love to hear your suggestions for guest speakers. Please feel free to volunteer yourself too and I'll consider all suggestions!

The speaking slot is approx 15 mins. The guest speaker on Wednesday 1 February is Joe Swindells from Hammerson.

Hi Leicia,

Just an idea; when I was working on the Heathrow T5 project, there was a huge support/design team based at the site compound, and the management there arranged for fortnightly (if I remember rightly) supplier's presentation lunches, in which a large group of design and management from across the many disciplines would come and sit in for an hour's presentation by a different supplier each time. These were very informative and good for letting a wide range of professionals know what latest products and services were available. I recall sitting in on one where the design and supply team of the glass cladding of the Swiss Re (gherkin) presented how they designed the scheme including all the 3D modelling and specialist design that was required, which was excellently presented and fascinating.

They were very popular events, perhaps some local specialist suppliers could be considered as guest presenters at some of these events, to publicise to the wider industry what they have to offer, as I'm sure the bulk of people in the industry know little of what other colleagues are doing or have to offer.
