Well Tianjin has been underdeveloped for so many years but it has lots of potentials, right now it's geared to become a hub of many growth industries, especially in aviation and space. Beside the Airbus assembly line there, Tianjin also will be building the next generation large launch vehicles for the Chinese space program.

More relevant is the rate of urbanization. Poland has ~38 million persons, if this many people in china are moving into the cities every year, then they must build 1 poland worth of infrastructure and cities every year.
