Shriram Transport Finance Company Limited, India’s largest asset financing company, launched Shriram Automall in Aurangabad. The Automall brings to the city, the country’s first single- window destination for trade of pre-owned trucks. U G Revankar, deputy managing director, who graced the occasion, inaugurated Shriram Automall in Aurangabad. The facility spread across a sprawling 2 lakh sq ft space, is the first-of-its kind initiative, which will give access to the country’s large community of truck-owners to trade their vehicles in a hassle-free manner. Apart from trading of trucks, Automall also facilitates the owners to seek financing and insurance options, as well as provides major and minor repair facilities. Audi India to set up assembly line at Aurangabad for Q7 & Q3 SUVs.
3 Feb, 2012, 03.16AM IST, ET Bureau MUMBAI: German premium car major Audi India will set up a new assembly line in Maharashtra for its sports utility vehicles to take on rivals BMW and Mercedes Benz. The new assembly line in Aurangabad will start producing Q7 and Q3 SUVs by the end of the year, ramping up Audi's capacity to 8,000 units, a senior executive said. "Q3 will be our bread and butter and the key product which will drive our growth in 2012," said Micheal Perschke, head, Audi India. "We will bring in one game changing model every year for the next few years." Perschke said the focus is on expanding reach and portfolio of Audi, which sold 80% more cars in India last year. The Q3 is likely to be priced in the 25-30 lakh range. It will challenge the dominance of BMW's X1 and Mini Countryman and Mercedes' B Class. The company is also considering bringing its smaller sedan, A3, creating a new entry level for itself. The company is likely to launch the TT model in the first quarter. This will be followed by the new A4, considered a volume puller for Audi. It has also lined up the S6 and three other models for launch this year. Audi plans to expand its reach by entering smaller cities like Nagpur, Bhopal, Lucknow and Goa. http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/...w/11734574.cms |

Model Railway Station in Aurangabad has bagged the 'Best remodelled station' Shield.
Mohammed Akhef, Aurangabad, April 9 The phase-I model railway station in Aurangabad has bagged the 'Best remodelled station' shield award for the current year here on Monday. According to highly placed railway sources, a team from the Nanded division will be visiting South Central Railway headquarters in Secunderabad on April 12 to receive the award in a grand award ceremony. This is for the first time in the history of Aurangabad that the railway station has bagged the prestigious award leaving all the railway stations behind in the SCR zone. The railway station has been awarded under the best remodeled category awards of efficiency shields during the ongoing 57th railway week celebration. It is learnt that the idea to have furniture for the phase-I railway station on the lines of airport, then the building having glimpse of what all the Aurangabad has to offer for the tourists were the plus points for this station as compared to other stations in the SCR zone. It is also learnt that the senior divisional commercial manager along with the divisional railway manager Sunil Singh Soin will receive the award on April 12."Getting an award is really a recognition to your work. As the DRM of the division, all I can say is to provide safe and punctual railway service to the commuters is more important than receiving any award, " said DRM Soin. "We are very glad to learn that our station has bagged this prestigious award. And it is more special for us as it is being awarded for the first time," said station superintendent Ashok Nikam. Commercial inspector Shankar Rao also echoed Nikam's views . Lokmat Times |
