are you sure? Why aren't they trying to keep him and go after Howard. If you listen to Mark Cuban he certainly doesn't sound interested in either.

No way Deron Williams re-signs with an awful team like the Nets.

I wouldn't be so sure. He's made public statements about wanting to play in a big market and it doesn't get much bigger then NYC especially if the nets start signing big paychecks to star free agents.

Yea, he can go to Knicks if he wants to play in NYC, or LA or Dallas.

I don't think the knicks will have the money to sign him and it sounds like dwight howard really wants to be in nyc over la or anywhere else. Keep in mind it doesn't take that many signings to transform a crappy nba team into a contendor. (LA Clippers). I mean think about it brand new arena in NYC not Jersey, with a billionaire owner with open pocket books and JayZ as a minority owner to give the team hype. What free agent wouldn't consider that option even if the team was horrible the year before. Its not like the knicks weren't one of the worst teams in the league before they signed carmelo and amare and they definately came to the knicks because it was the biggest market in the country otherwise it would have made more sense to stay on their prior teams.

Cuban said it would be smarter to wait until the 3rd year of the new CBA to try and sign big FAs. He also said he wasn't trading for big name..........aka Dwight Howard.

If the mavs have the opportunity to sign deron ..cuban will change his mind....jason kidd should retire after this season...it will be cool for deron to finish his career right here in dallas....a place he grew up in.

Most likely net Dirk will be a top 5 pick, unless Dallas tanks, that aint happening for a while.
