I don't know what he meant by "semi-desert".There are no deserts in Brazil, only a semi-arid region in countryside of Northeast region.

Maceió a desert for Brazilian standards???? I guess you have NEVER been there then.

Maceió is really far away of being a semi-arid city!

Actually it is located in a very humid region, the "zona da mata".
