This afternoon the main contractor Obayashi Corporation will hand over the tower to the owner Tobu Tower Sky Tree Co., Ltd. A completion ceremony is planned for Friday 03/02.

After a hard day of work the tower is now officially completed.

Tokyo Sky Tree surpassed the 333-meter Tokyo Tower, in Minato Ward, in March 2010. Tokyo Sky Tree's final height was decided last March 18.

Now that the tower has been completed, the operator plans to finish the interior for stores and other facilities with an eye to opening them to the public on May 22.

In this weekend of remembrance for the Great Tokyo Air Raid of 1944 and especially of course for the Great Tohuku Earthquake and Tsunami the Tokyo Sky Tree was lighted up in a special way for once more before the opening.
