Lakes going, Green Area's Coming
Hi,
I read this some years ago in the forum, but now have a confirmation that DMCC is going ahead with this. The Lakes will be converted into Green Area's within the next 18 months or so. The first Lake to be converted will be Lake A. I am not sure what these Greens will contain, but apparently this decision has been taken as the maintaining the water in the Lakes is not working as planned. Anyone else heard this as well? Not sure this is positive or negative for the community, but surely it will increase the MCC as they will put this burden on the residents only.

This was shared with some of the OA Managers at a recent meeting held with DMCC.

It does not take very long for them the change the name and re-do the signs.

Jumeirah Park Towers would be ok.. and actually I wouldn't mind parks rather than these fake chemical filled ponds we have today. At least people could make some use of the space we have and its a better environment to live in.
They need to keep dogs off them though!! Put a fence around the parks with some entrance gates and a guard to stop those animals defecating everywhere, but I am pretty sure it would raise the Community SC. but meh, that's just speculation until someone confirms it. |

DMCC is at the point where it's easier to figure out how to maintain the lakes properly than spend millions of Dirhams/man hours re landscaping the area again.
It doesn't take a very smart person to figure out the whole capacity of water in the four lakes. Calculate how much fresh water needs to be pumped into Lake A, and then pump out that much water in Lake B,C and D to keep it clean. As long as that is done properly, and with out chemicals we can use some of the old water for irrigating the vegetation in JLT, and surrounding communities to save some money, and be a more enviromentally green community. |

It wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe they can keep the 2 lakes (One closest to X & Y tower, and the other lake near Bonnington), and so replacing the center 2 lakes with 2 parks, a cycle track, recreational areas, barbeque stations etc... as long as people don't bring food from the lakeside restaurants onto the grass areas. We now await official confirmation of the removal of the "lakes"........ |

Same gossip was here 2-3 years ago, somebody posted that wont be lakes only parks there and more towers coming at the lake side..
Same rubbish as always , if the DMCC can hot handle the lakes how they will maintain the parks? It cost much more then the lake.. Maybe the next idea will be filling the lakes with sand only without greenery and we will have Jumeirah Desert Towers
