Nice aerial!, may I ask if this shoreline I see is white sand beach?. I know a Japanese developer has already bought a parcel of beach property here for potential resort development . Can someone list some advertised proposals along this area? I mean those that are already filed in the OBO for permits, otherwise they are only speculations.

Issues Stalling 8 PPP Projects
http://www.mb.com.ph/articles/351272...8-ppp-projects
By BERNIE CAHILES-MAGKILAT

February 14, 2012, 8:00am
MANILA, Philippines — Under pressure to show concrete accomplishments after having been in office for 18 months, the Aquino administration is trying to assess the status of 8 PPP projects that are still being bogged down by unresolved issues.

These projects are LRT 1 Cavite Extension, NAIA Expressway Phase II, NLEX-SLEX Connector Road, Vaccine Self-Sufficiency Project Phase II, Modernization of the Philippine Orthopaedic Center, O&M Laguindingan Airport, Mactan-Cebu International Airport Passenger Terminal Building, and New Bohol (Panglao) Airport.

“The administration has been in office for 18 months and there is a need for visibility on its accomplishments,” documents gathered stated.

For the O&M of Laguindingan Airport, the request for proposal has been released last January 11 and commencement of consulting services to start this week, Feb. 17.

Not only corals, rich seagrass beds, but also the mangroves that fronted the beach, almost 4 kilometers!.

Yup the sand is white, almost similar if not better than Midway beach resort in Gitagum, only that it is longer! 4 kilometers in length. I'm not aware of any advertise proposals though in this area (Brgy. Tubajon, laguindingan). The only one I know of is a high-end beach resort in neighbour municipality of Gitagum, the Club South Pacific. Been to this place in Tubajon and travel is a pain in the a**, road is bad, but what's worse is land prices are skyrocketing.

Here's a quote from a Marine Study in this area.

ASSESSMENT ON THE DIFFERENT MARINE COASTAL COMMUNITIES OFTHE SELECTED AREAS IN NORTHERN MINDANAO (scribd link)

"2.2.1 Description of the Study Area

The study area is a shallow mangrove forest and mixed seagrass bed located in Punta Sulawan,Tubajon, Laguindingan (80 32.5¶N, 1240 27.6¶E), on the coast of Misamis Oriental. It is bounded byBohol Sea on the north, Gitagum on the west and Alubijid on the south and east. It is a 29 kilometerswest of Cagayan de Oro City and about 59 kilometers away from Iligan City. The site is about seven (7)kilometers from the national highway and has a white-sandy beach leading to a shallow seagrass beds. The mangrove forest extends for about 4 km of the coast. The seagrass meadow has a very rich vegetative area that extends 800 m seaward. Its substratum is characterized as sandy, sandy-muddy,sandy-rubble and sandy-rocky. The area is relatively protected from waves and has prevailing quietwaters.
"

i dunno kung ano ang pinagkaiba sa white-sand at white-sandy.

good chance it would be. once the genav of NAIA will transfer to sangley,
the PAF facilities in sangley might be transferred to lumbia.

the mactan in MCIA refers to mactan island. the airport is located in lapu-
lapu city but it does NOT carry the city name. the cebu in MCIA refers to
cebu province, NOT cebu city. just to set the record straight, thanks.

right! i was just referring to this - "... LAGUINDINGAN-CDO INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT pareha ba sa cebu ang ngalan MACTAN-CEBU INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT" ... it is not pareha cause while the province and the city has the
same name, cebu here refers to the province. it is the governor who sits on
the board, the mayors of cebu city and lapu-lapu don't, and MCIAA actually
operates the MCIA and ALL airports that are or will be established anywhere
in the province.

there are no common convention for naming airports but my personal opinion
is that we should be considerate enough to prefer names that indicate the
region it covers. besides mactan, there's the example of tagbilaran airport -
it's going to be transferred to panglao island, bohol, so right now the proposed
names are either "panglao airport" or the "new bohol airport," not tagbilaran
airport or new tagbilaran airport.

ultimately its DOTC who decides but the desires and preferences of the local
political leadership is seriously considered.

The Sports Complex is Don Gregorio Pelaez Sports Center, named after the former governor of Misamis Oriental. Although, the bridge somewhere in Indahag is named after Emmanel Pelaez.

considering CAAP,The current Political leadership in time before the opening of the airport will have a major influence with the naming rights. I'd hope the personality who'll have the honor will be widely accepted by the local people. Its their airport, they should have a choice.
