agree with the idea, by them destroying an iconic Filipino historical landmark, the benguet center... SM should at least replace it with another landmark...

instead of 3 65-storey buildings... one 100-storey landmark building would be 10x more impressive & everyone would notice it.. if they do this, more people would be satisfied.. we will remember the benguet center as the one who gave way to the country's tallest & new landmark....

also this way ortigas center would certainly grab more momentum that the fort & makati are getting right now

i think the problem is there's no demand for high end offices. most of the offices, even in the fort are bpo-types or converted parts of malls or warehouse types which is why we see SM building these on top of a carpark.

office space demand is still pretty high... but yeah its true that its mostly for bpos & such..

if they somehow make one great tower out of this... it could be a new trademark & symbol for SM.. & maybe the country.

This morning.....

Partial enclosure on the side of the existing Podium Mall.

From a distance, I thought there was groundbreaking activity, but upon uploading, I realized it was more of a staging area supposedly for an SM project nearby.

forgive me but is this the sign of the start of the construction of this uncertain and indistinct project of SM? Eh kahit kasi ako di ko alam kung anu ba talaga ang project nila at kailangan pang sirain yung iconic structure dito.

it's just a staging area for an on-going project. No signages on the outside fences that would give us idea at the moment, so we can only guess.

Now that there are talks that MPlace Ortigas is finally pushing thru and construction to start in August, could this be their staging area?

according to some skirmishes, MPlace Ortigas will be transferred to a diferent location because of the dispute with a Hotel that i forgot the name. Anyway, kung dito yung MPlace, so parang 24storey building lng ata yun, parang ang layo sa mga initial renderings. Sayang lang talaga yung Benguet Center kung hindi kasing iconic nito ang ipapalit na building dito. Well constructive criticism lng namn.
