Fresh pics from Tjuvholmen, pretty grey weather I have to say, but anyway, here goes:
![]() Im a bit dissapointed with how the museum looks from close up. Earlier renders suggested more glass, ![]() This is similar to an image I took last year. The flatiron building by Mir arkitekter is now obscured by the three buildings, including the hotel, by Mellbye, HRTB, and Lof arkitekter. I believe the street they belong to has been named Landgangen. All three should be complete by 2013. ![]() The museum seen from behind the corner of Lille Stranden, ![]() The hotel is designed by Mellbye Arkitekter ![]() The canal that runs between the museum complex ![]() Flatiron by Mir, along with the buildings by Hansen/Bjørndal and Jensen & Skodvin, should have been completed in 2011. It doesnt look as if they have been though as access is still restricted. ![]() Seen from a distance, below Villa Filipstad As far as I remember reading, later buildings by Ramberg, Lund Hagem and Jensen & Skodvin at the tip of the island should be complete in 2013, though no signs of construction are visible as of yet, not from land anyway. The architects for the later adresses in Dyna Brygge are Narud Stokke Wiig and Torstein Ramberg, scheduled for completion 2014. The last building, Fru Kroghs brygge, is to be the second hammer schmidt lassen design on Tjuvholmen, and is scheduled for completion in 2014. Which means Tjuvholmen should be finished in 2014 if everything goes to plan. My guess is it will spill over into 2015. I also saw something about a square called Salmakersvenn Marius Jantzens plass. I also noted the names KSW and Gulliksen, |

The form, the scale, the architecture, the location... Everything seems great to me... There is nothing I don't like about it. I love the project. Makes me want to live in Oslo!!!

This is of course a minor detail all in all and I really like Tjuvholmen overall, can hardly see anything better being built there if I just overlook a couple minor details (as one that evaluates city spaces a lot as I move around I maybe should try to overlook my critical look a little ) Tjuvholmen is overall a project I'm very pleased with, even if it was Niels Torp architects behind some of the planning and I'm not a huge fan of some of their work and philosophy, this time things did work out good.

Nice shot. They should make a more modern direction sign, this one looks kind of sad and boring leaning to one side. It doesn't match the beautiful architecture of the buildings in the background. |

The design of the signs is probably there to stay, but I suspect they will straighten it up when it gets warmer (probably hard to get the pole to stand properly when the ground is frozen.

Did they take sea level rise into account?

![]() The land here is rising upwards from the after effects of the last ice age. For the Oslofjord area the speed is approximatly 4 mm a year, or 0,4 meters a century. Besides you could easily have the water about half a meter higher relative to the ground level. For this reason no prognosis of sea level rise will put this area below water. |

Depending of the location (places farthest out towards the Oslofjord cost the most). Apartments for sale in this building which is quite close to the fjord but not the closest, range from around 1 million $ to 1.5 million.
![]() Many of the buildings are also offices and I'm unsure about the rent for those.

No, it's private property so the signs is just something the developer have put up. This is a ordinary, offical direction sign: ![]() http://www.vg.no/bildespesial/spesial.php?id=8454
