McDonalds
as an employee for the McDonalds corporation here in Sydney I have been privvy to see the inside and out of a lot of stores, the two most beautiful stores I have seen to date are McDonalds in Cremorne on Sydney's North Shore and McDonald's Gosford West on the Central Coast, both are architectural gems. I too have quite a fascination with the design of these stores, glad I found this thread

Cremorne looks quite good after it was rebuilt but the dining area is much smaller than in the past. They also removed the famous photograph of The Spit off the wall. It really felt like a local store.

The new pre fab stores are quite nice too, they do however lack that soul that some of the originals had, Thornleigh (our nation's flagship restaurant) is a very large restaurant that keeps getting re-designed.

I assume it's the prototype store - anything new starts there.
I remember the aussie theme the stores used to have. Really made our stores unique. I've probably already mentioned it.

Interesting one at Toombul Centro in Brisbane
http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=too...sland&t=h&z=21 The store is a food court type one, but has a drive through in an annexe that faces out onto an elevated car park. When at the store you can see the drive thru presenters window is a long distance down a hallway from the kitchen, so there is a looped carrier on the ceiling (Like at a dry cleaners) that moves at high speed. Bags get clipped to it, it gets turned on, and they whiz from the kitchen area to the drive thru window. |

South Hurstville in Sydney used to have a looped carrier in the original store. I remember too as a youngster that some shopping centres used to have a store that mimicked a stand alone store like Westfield Burwood and Westfield Hurstville.

Kingsford, NSW
This McDonalds is famous for producing former McDonalds Chief Executive officer Charlie Bell. Bell died from cancer in 2005 at just 44 years of age. ![]() By fabianamuso at 2012-02-13
