These are wave breakers, which is very interesting, possibly means they are working on the north side of the reclaimed land near biel?

The recent discussion was off-topic and therefore relocated to a more appropriate thread:

I want to remind everyone to refrain from making any personal insults against one another.

Why dont they call lebanon Hariristan while they are at it, and Beirut Harirabad instead of calling every street, road, highway, avenue, airport, gardens, statues, public space, public buildings, commercial buildings, hospitals, schools...etc Rafik Hariri. Khalas its becoming too much. People are worshiping their politicians more than they worship god himself.

Also, Rafik Harriri was never president, he was prime minister... Freudian slip?! Really everything has become politicized in this country, so sad.

This isn't a political thread ,2nd the guy did some work ans achievements for his country ,although yeaah I don't agree calling every achievement he made by his name ,another thing other than the political thing ,there are streets in Lebanon named after some high priest or Archibishop in Keserwan ,is that relevant ???I say name streets by numbers not dedicated to some political or religious figure

Annie23, the issue here is to create a collective memorial garden that unites the Lebanese in an effort to establish some sort common grounds far from the confessional divisions of the city . And when you call the garden rafik hariri, i dont think that the name instigates unity and communal harmony between the factions of the lebanese populace, because whether you like it or not, half or even more of the lebanese are not very fond of this politician.

I like it better when they name streets or places after sportsmen, poets or musicians. There are so many in Lebanon. To choose the name of a political figure only inflames hatred.

That's actually a pretty good idea. It'll be great to call this Fairouz garden or something similar in case that garden already exists.
