Cute . More than 60% of Ørestads population is between 25 and 39 yars of age.

The swedish newspaper Sydsvenskan has visited Ørestad. It's a positive article, but just to bring some tension into this post, I will quote a very un-swedish remark from the start of the article. Goodbye political correctness

Vid första anblick är Örestad förvillande likt en postapokalyptisk zombieby under sovjetstyre.

Oh lord - Ørestad has sure been called many things, but this takes the cake! The rest of the article is, however, nothing like the above.

and here is a taste of how the KUA buildings in Ørestad North will appear when they get their stone cladding. Nice IMO.

I like it too. Will there still be some sort of LED screens on the facades? I remember seeing something like that in some old renderings of the project.

New parking in Ørestad Syd

Nyt parkeringshus på Robert Jacobsens Vej i Ørestad Syd
Byudviklingen er gået hurtigt i Ørestad Syd og efterspørgslen på boliger er stor. Derfor har Udviklingsselskabet By & Havn valgt at bygge områdets første parkeringshus. By & Havn etablerer, driver og vedligeholder parkeringsanlæg i Ørestad. Når Ørestad er fuldt udbygget vil 90 pct. af parkeringen foregå i parkeringshuse, som placeres så de bedst muligt dækker virksomhedernes, beboernes og gæsternes behov.

Det nye parkeringshus bliver på 8 etager, 25 meter højt og vil få plads til ca. 700 biler. Huset opføres i stål og beton med facadebeklædning af alu-plader med unikt mønster.

CG Jensen har i licitation vundet opgaven, som blev udbudt i totalentreprise. Projekteringen er sat i gang og vi forventer at gå i jorden april/maj 2012.

Vi ser frem til at sætte endnu et aftryk i Ørestaden med denne markante bygning.

You can see here on this photo across the "fælled" how the addition of the balconies on KAB´s elderly housing project, beside 8 tallet, improves the appearence of the building. It becomes almost sculpturtal.
Balconies will also be put up on the light green section.

Agree. They prove that it does not necessarily take much to improve the appearance of a building quite a lot.

Svend Aukens Plads is more of a space left over than an actual "plads" but it will look better when the first buildings on the Fast Batteri site are built.

Temperatures have been quite nice recently and yesterday the weather station in Kastrup measured 13,8. So were are the photos? ;-)
