The Secret World of Arrietty is Arietty. It's only just been released in the US.

Maybe instead of posting full movies someone could recommend a good one?

I cannot say :) I think there is no type I prefer the most. You know, for example I don't usually watch horrors, but two months ago I saw a korean one and loved it (though I wouldn't call it a horror). I just like to feel the ambience, the moment. Very often I also expect to have that urban feeling. My favorite movie is Lost in Translation, but at that moment I actually only watch asian movies (mostly korean but not serial/drama). Here is a few japanese I like, specially the first four:
About Love/Lian Ai Di Tu ![]() My Rainy Days/Tenshi no Koi ![]() Kimi Ni Todoke ![]() Kimi no Yubisaki Way too short to think about it for the next few days, but except for this, it was marvellous. ![]() April Story/Shigatsu monogatari I liked the ambience of the first half. ![]() Kokuhaku It was quite dynamic, good topic, pictures, acting, a very good movie, but not in my favorites. ![]() Blue Spring/Aoi Haru Different, not so sweet and a bit depressing, but a good one.

For horror movies, Japan has so many. You can actually find a big list on wikipedia. Alot of them are remade by hollywood.
Maybe you will like 20th century boys or something, I have no idea what kind of movies you would like. I like the Trick specials but I guess they're not really "movies". |

Yeah I know, but as I said, normally I'm not a huge fan of it. The point is that you can't know if the movie will turn out to be good or not. This is why I suggest to use this thread also to recommend or mention some movies, that we have seen and liked.

I've seen Taiyo no uta, it was nice, I know that kaspric likes this movie. I've watched the trailer of Kamikaze Girls and it's probably not my taste, but maybe I will view this movie one day. When it comes to the Swing Girls I see the title for the first time, I think it can be fun ;)

Taiyou no uta is one of my favs indeed. These scenes when Kaoru looks on the town from her window, the music in background, I love its slowness and silence.
Kamikaze girls was cool, specific, but I coudn't judge or compare it to other movies ;-). Watch Otonari as I said before, I love this movie. Btw, do you know any comedy in style like Shonen Merickensack? |
