With the proposal for a monorail, are we closing the option for a mature mass rapid system(like Delhi Metro) which can carry more passengers and at high speed? Before rushing in to awarding the contract, I hope some study is done on mass rapid system. With the fast growth of our city, this will be a unsuitable transport mode in the near future. In cities around the world, the effective transport is still metro with small localised mono rails to support it. My few cents....

Monorail is better than Metro for Indian cities where land/space is constraint and takes lesser space on roads thereby least disturbing road users. Recently, Chennai is planning further expansions only using monorail and not metro.

Feels disgusting/annoyed when you see some people just copy paste your effort and paste it in their threads without even mentioning a word of courtesy or source to you or the original source.
90% or more of that thread is SSCTVM without a word of source/courtesy. ![]() As is seen IN THIS THREAD VJ has noted this before here and told to put watermark, but lack of time doesnt allow always to do that. ![]() IF ANY REPLIES ON THIS, PLS POST IT HERE |
