Every now and then an article comes up mentioning a new timeline. Not much progress on ground. Even the basic structure is not complete yet and the progress is really slow.

the promoters/developers will keep doing this - to create some excitement which in turn can help them to get some bookings from potential lessees..once they get some booking and advance money, they will use that in construction...

Ramee Mall review
Earlier known for its numerous coconut trees, Teynampet, has over the years metamorphosed into a neighbourhood that is a commercial hub. It's landscape is now lined with offices, banks, chic five-star hotels and the latest — a mall.
The Ramee Mall that has garnered quite a bit of interest over the last few months was inaugurated over the weekend. Sprawling over 2,25,000 sq. ft., this two-storeyed building stands tall next to the Hyatt. “It is a boutique mall. That's why we don't have theatres here. It's a mall that caters to real shoppers who want to shop without any disturbance. The design meets five-star standards,” says Raj Shetty, chairman, Ramee group. Brands such Lasya (jewellery), Kryolan City (cosmetics), Chique Fashions from Kolkata are some of them. The Shoppers' Stop in Ramee Mall is said to be the biggest in Chennai. It houses international skin care giants such as The Body Shop, Shiseido, Guerlain, Elizabeth Arden among others. http://www.thehindu.com/life-and-sty...cle2963551.ece |

That is good news and definitely a crowd puller, not sure how long they would have it free.

![]() Shoppers stop is huge. occupies one side of mall completely on all three levels. Some shops I remember. Nike Archies Cafe Day on ground floor Canon showroom Revlon/lakme on ground floor Gaming/Bowling on 2nd floor Nothing so different from other malls. The mall is not too small as I thought before. Parking has two levels. But that includes for the hotel also I guess. Seems to be sufficient. When I went to the mall at around 7PM almost half the parking space is free with already good crowd in the mall. Since there is no multiplex, parking should not be a problem. |
