200m+ skyscraper for the South Bank, London
20 Blackfriars Road, London
This tower has been rumoured for a while now, but the first photographs have now surfaced. It was thought to be around 175m, but judging by the model shown below it would have to be a minimum of 200m, probably nearer 210m. The neighbouring Beetham Tower proposal which we already know about is 220m - as you can see from the last 2 pics in my post, this other tower is going to be nearly as tall. Pics of the already proposed Beetham Tower - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pics of the new tower, planned for the neighbouring site on 20 Blackfriars Road - ![]()

From what we have seen I really like it, it will help mold a great cluster! Hopefully we will see renders of the new Beetham tower soon.

It look good on one side, but boring on another side (like the view from the thired pic) But overall I like it a lot, can be taller.

Great, it looks very promising. I'll go & have a look at the model for myself.

Why don't you read what I actually wrote. I am *NOT* talking about the Beetham Tower. I am talking about A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TOWER NEXT DOOR. |

Some people are just a little stupid.
Anyway, I think it's an excellent height, it's tall for London, and even Europe! The design looks great (from the pics anyway) and the architects are really good. It should be the 8th or 9th 200m+ proposal in London right? Last edited by newcastle kid; June 20th, 2006 at 09:22 PM. |

eh... I don't know what to say... On one side it looks really good, on the other it's weird, and on another it looks boring...
But what the heck, I like it anyway, it's got height, and it's got "style", so why not. Good job London!

Also, we don't know if this tower actually IS over 200m, although it certainly looks very likely from the model. |

The tallest building under construction right now is the Broadgate Tower (165m), followed by the Pan Peninsula Tower (147m). LBT, Bishopsgate Tower and 122 Leadenhall are all pretty much confirmed to be starting groundwork in the next 6 months though. |

Thanks.
It's interesting that the Pan-Peninsula is already UC, to me it seems like a fairly new project, compared to some on the approved list.

I think you might have confused some people by posting pictures of Beetham tower first Will
