I would say New York have got their stacked boxes with One Madison Park. A slim, well-functioning too.



But yeah, it is a matter of taste and putting modules on top of each other is kind of a cliché but in the case of "Perlekæden" the stacking makes sense since it is a part of the masteplan's thematic composition.

Here's some extra visuals showing the future skyline of the area according to the masterplan.
