+1

Also they look so small next to the stadium, you won't really notice them

It's a shame that they don't have another £100m to spend to get the pods right. Of course, if they weren't spending £60m on a pointless cable car system and if Boris had spent more time getting Mr Mittal to give his money generally to the Olympic project rather than a pointless tower, we'd have more money to spend on things like this.

Hold on. How many times is this cable car money supposed to have been spent on other projects. So far I've seen people moaning that the money could have been spent on extra commuter trains to Bellingham to compensate for Thameslink works, DLR extensions, Thames gateway bridges and now for circular refreshment stands?

Plus the Mittal money was for a grand monument, purely a private donation. So if you think it would have gone on some refreshment stands instead you are seriously deluded. It was Mittals money to give for what he wanted. You can argue about the design of the observation platform but not what the money would have been used for.

Olympic money was not spent on the cable cars. The project is nothing to do with the Olympics.

It's a shame that block of portacabins are staying during the games as part of the back of house facilities. Will be quite noticable from the air and for spectators on the south part of the stadium podium.

Nice to see the planting and turfing being completed in front of the orbit circus.

Testing the park lamps (from Andy Wilkes' blog again - http://www.insidelondon2012.blogspot.co.uk/ )

"The Testing of the Halo Masts around the London 2012 Olympic Stadium.

As well as lights these have scrolling messages, and are partialy powered by the wind turbines on the top."

In the case of these portacabins they are being re-used for back of house facilities.

It would have been nice if they could have a coat of paint. They just look so industrial and bland.
