The city has just released design concepts for the new transit terminal to be built on MacNab Street. The design will be accessible and will incorporate a green roof and heated platform.

Is their any news on this?
I've just been having a look on Google maps with the St view, and it reminded me of the bus/rail interchange. It brought back memories of being on the bus going and coming back to both Niagra and Toronto, good memories. |

"Overall, the results indicate that an investment in LRT in Hamilton will generate significant
benefits and support the City’s broader objectives to revitalize, redevelop and reshape its most significant east-west corridor. While the lowest cost option, Option 1, produces the highest benefit-cost ratio of 1.4, both LRT options generated benefit-cost ratios that are greater than 1.0. The highest cost option, Option 2, also produced the greatest benefits in all accounts, all of which make an important contribution towards achieving the objectives and goals of both the City and the Province." $784 million for LRT for the B-Line "The construction period is assumed to be the same for all three options with start in 2011 and completion by 2014 for opening of service in 2015." |

There is an talk of Hamilton's transit debate on Steve Munro's website. His webpage is stevemunro.ca and you can post your own comments about HSR plans or a lot of other transit topics.

Liuna Update / Questions??
Does anyone know of recent happenings of Liuna Station becoming a GO hub? I am confused as they are further renovating it into an events hall. They must be constructing a different building for the station, no?

Quick question about this, so even after the James Street North and Confederation stations are built to allow for extension of the Lakeshore West line, will the Hamilton GO Centre continue to be used to serve downtown and the city's south end?

No the TH&B GO Station will remain and have rush hour and GO Bus service.
James St North will have non-rush hour GO Train service and a few GO Bus stops, apparently it'll be the main GO Station from people connecting to or from the Niagara Region. |
