It's possibly my favorite building at City Place. It's funny to think affordable housing designed by a Toronto firm can look better then market value buildings designed by outside firms.

It goes to show that more expensive doesn't mean more attractive and that good design doesn't necessarily cost more. I can't tell you how many ugly 5,000+ square foot homes in expensive neighbourhoods I've been in.

That bridge is really garish. Why yellow? Honestly, why yellow?! Santiago Calatrava just did this in Calgary. Shows what money and a real architect can do.. Don't know how they got him to make it red though, Calatrava is the God of White.

My sister is convinced of it. Is it prostitution if you'd do it for free?

I'm really curious on why they are so insistent on yellow, as it is pretty much the ugliest colour imaginable. The bridge is kind of nice, but why the heck that pale lemon yellow?

I was wondering if it had to do with allowable colours to go over the railtracks but that seems rather ridiculous. It probably looked great in renders (really punchy colour) but the execution was horrible.

They must be getting a lot of negative feedback about the colour. Perhaps it will be painted differently before the opening.
The bridge itself is very cool!

They should use royal blue, Maple Leafs blue or UT blue.

I can imagine that painting that bridge yellow sounded like a really bold and edgy idea at the conference table but in reality, it really falls flat on its face. That particular shade of yellow could not be duller. On a grey winter's day, I think I would be more depressed seeing that than I would be by seeing a normal coloured bridge. Also, the yellow makes it seem like a temporary construction equipment or something. Any pedestrian would want a bridge to have a sense of uncompromised permanence and this fails on that account too.
