I also visited today. It seemed smaller than I imagined. I would think it could be perfectly suitable for a big football club, but not for cricket. Perfectly nice, if rather dusty up top. Indeed, in the full sun, with nice live entertainment, all I needed was for a glass of Pimms in my hand for it to be a perfect afternoon. I think it will be really good for concerts too.

Sykocs, you need somewhere to host your piccies. I use photobucket, which is free and pretty anonymous. Some use flickr. Just follow their instructions.

Link doesn't work but the hundreds of comments I've seen on twitter today and yesterday from people who were in there seem to contradict that.

I was there today too. It seems amazingly intimate for an 80k stadium. Ive been right at the top tier of Wembley at England games and that seemed to be miles away from the action, whereas the top tier there felt great. The upper tier is perfectly fit for watching football, but the distance from the lower tier, especially given its shallow rake, means it is not. If that can be overcome with temporary/retractable stands then i think it would do perfectly well as a football stadium.

The stands look too far away for football.

If they could make it work for cricket and athletics it would be a decent legacy. We could easily fill it for the Ashes. I suppose it wouldnt get 'week in, week out' attendances such as a West Ham tenancy, but it would at least get used more than an athletics only legacy.

Now it is built it seems crazy to reduce its size to 25,000 as originally proposed, especially considering we have poured nearly £1/2 billion into it.
I'm sure they said it's going to be turned into a 60,000 seater, but anyway I'm hoping they choose the tenant wisely (whatever chances of that happening).

Truth is nobody knows!
60 000 is what West Ham intended to reduce it to

60k is what the 2017 bid promised and includes the plans to move the warm up track closer also.

Ive heard about the moving of the warm up track, but where to, exactly? The only piece of ground that appears closer is on the slither of land on which the Orbit sits but I thought that was going to be redeveloped into teletubby land?

How about the parking area just south of the stadium? Is it large enough?

seems to have been tacked on to the back of West Ham's original plan, which included a reduction in seats to make way for corporate boxes and closing off the seats behind the jumbo screens. There's also some uncertainty as to whether that factored in temporary seating (which would naturally hold less spectators than the in-situ lower tier). All in all I dont see why there would be a significant reduction in the number of seats available in the stadium for the WCs - those which are closed off for football due to being behind the screens or a temporary stand would be available in athletics mode.
