Just a heads up, Rib Fest is on this weekend in Burlington. My favourite part is no more beer tents. Free to walk around the entire festival with a beer in your hand. ![]()

good morning!!!
Good morning to all! My name is Luca Veronesi and I am an italian man of 31 years old that hates so much his own native country. My best dream is to live and work forever in the niagara falls area or the GTA as an office clerk, but nobody until now have had the brave to say to me: go "there" instead to "the other place" because there are much more work possibilities, or: you can come here only for holidays and your work is not requested.
I hope so much to write on this part of the forum with some posts much more rilevant than this, but before continue, I have to make my apologies to all the native canadians because I'm trying to improve my spaghetti english as faster as I can, and now I still make a lot of mistakes. Finally I have to say that these photoes are awesome, and with these my dream to be canadian will be stronger than before, my biggest congratulations to all! PS: My heart is Canadian, my mind is Canadian, my soul is Canadian. I'm italian only for my native language and for the law. I have wrote on my city Niagara on the lake because is the city where I love to live someday, but I've never had the joy to visit this God Gift called Canada. The important part of myself belong to the true north strong and free. Proud to belong to Canada! GO LEAFS GO! and GO CANADA GO! |

Does anyone have information about the Post Office Building on Church Street in Oakville?
I was particularly wondering what the listing price was. I understand the address range covers from 193 to 197 Church Street. I went to the GBRE Real Estate site as there sign is in front but it is not listed. Thank You Here is a Post Card from the 1960s

Here is the Church Street Post Office Building as of November 5th 2011
![]() Opened in 1958 and still in use. I believe this is Oakville's 5th Post Office. Originaly this building contained several Canadian Government agencies including , Customs , Manpower and an RCMP detatchment. Now the only occupant is Canada Post. As of November 5th 2011 this property is listed for sale. The retail services section of Canada Post will be relocating to 134 Lakeshore Road West and delivery services will be relocating to Speers Road sometime in 2012. That looks like it will be a cool condo. Nice that the old place next to it will be there too.

The "Town of Oakville" has purchased the Post Office building that I asked about on November 5th for $11 Million to build a parking structure.

I guess the city wants to get rid of all the surface parking across the street from this location.

The tall Ford paint stack is now gone - TheSpec online article:
Tower Demolished at Oakville Ford Plant Sat Mar 17 2012 Saturday morning stared with a bang in Oakville for residents around the Ford assembly plant. Ford demolished an unused building and one paint stack – previously part of the old Oakville Assembly Plant paint shop – this morning at 6 a.m.. Both venues were decommissioned 5 years ago. Ford spokesperson Kerri Stoakley said the noise created by the explosions was brief, with two bangs at about 120dB – about as loud as some vehicle anti-theft alarms. The OPP monitored the demolition and slowed traffic on the QEW to ensure drivers didn’t get distracted while watching the building fall. The Ministry of the Environment was also on hand to monitor vibrations and to ensure all appropriate measures were taken to minimize the impact of the demolition.... Does anyone know what's going on here: http://g.co/maps/4p3mh
There was an application a while back, but I didn't get a chance to check it out and the next time I drove by the sign was gone. There was also a small development at Lakeshore and Allan where the construction seems to be on-hold. Anyone know what happened there? |

I guess Burlington is really gonna start to build up now that they've run out of land for sprawl.
