I have posted this picture in London skyline thread already, but I think there is no harm to post it here as well.

yubnub: thanks, it was my friend who made them.

I have taken my friends (who were on holidays in London) to the bar on top of the Tower 42. I must admit that this forum was my inspiration to go there If it wasn't for skyscrapercity I wouldn't even know what Vertigo 42 is My friends loved it and I think this was even better tourist attraction than London Eye - mainly because almost all tourists visit London Eye and only handful have opportunity to visit this bar. So if anyone has any friends or family visiting London - take them there. The bar is expensive but a bottle of wine is cheaper than 2 tickets to London Eye

Looks like its reservations only. Was/is there a bar/restaurant at the top of Heron, I remember reading something about that in the past?

You have to book in advance (atleast 24hrs i think), I took the mrs up there for her birthday a couple of months ago. It's expensive but great.

The cheapest bottle of wine is £36 and the cheapest glass of bubbly is £16 (its a champagne bar).

You can book time slots which are all for 90 minutes. Well worth a visit. Better in winter than summer i'd imagine as it gets dark earlier.

We phoned an hour in advance after enjoying a cocktail in the skylon last Saturday evening, they gave us standing room entry, definitely worth a visit.

We were wearing jeans shirt and shoes, but there were others more casual. I believe it's 'smart casual', no shorts etc.

While it's been delayed, it does seem like Sushi Samba will be opening this Summer. See the response I received below:

Thank you for your email and for your interest in SUSHISAMBA in London. We are looking forward to bringing our brand to the UK in 2012 starting with a spectacular site featuring two restaurants and a bar on the top three floors of the iconic Heron Tower.

The restaurant is due to open in late June this year. I will add you to our mailing list and make sure you are informed of the opening date once it has been set. More updates including reservation phone numbers and a link to our online reservations system will be posted on our website as we get closer to the opening.

In terms of career opportunities, current vacancies including job descriptions are posted on the Careers section of our website. We are currently finalizing our senior management team and will move on to hiring hourly staff in about a month’s time.

We look forward to welcoming you to SUSHISAMBA in the Heron Tower this summer!

Just noticed that Heron (and T42 and the Shard) appeared on Eastenders tonight - Michael had rented out the restaurant in 30 SMA for a liaison with Janine Butcher.

The Sky News London mayoral debate tonight was held at the Heron Tower. It looked great, and there were some fantastic aerial shots of it and the rest of the City during the debate.

The Sky News mayoral debate was held in the Heron Tower on the 19th of April. There were some brilliant aerial shots of it and the City, and the inside of the building. Flick through the videos below to see it. They show aerial live pictures at various points during the whole debate:
