Saw it last week.. meh, why do Lebanese director always try to mash up many stories in one movie.. it's confusing..a simple storyline can still be artsy |

This movie has been banned from showing in the biggest Lebanese theaters. I will refrain from commenting on the matter with my personal opinion, but I can't but feel ashamed...Quote:

Did I? I simply posted a related news with a significant importance, and refrained from stating my opinion, whether political or non-political:

My post was about freedom of speech, not about politics. Maybe you should've asked me "where was I" when those events presented in that movie happened (2006 war). I was in Beirut when it was being bombed, if you're wondering. Now would you please stop reading every post in a political mentality, and keep our forums clean from this nonsense? I would appreciate it...

sa7i7 shou enkon lebneniye..Seriously, the country is going crazy or what? Censorship and "cultural terrorism" is increasing in Lebanon.. no matter what the reasons were..religious, political, etc.. arresting an indie singer for insulting the "president" in a song? banning movies left and right? Arresting two bloggers for graffiti? arresting a comedian for his underwear? and you two are playing l bayda wl djeje game. Politicians can screw up as much as they can, it is not something new. But Lebanon is absolutely worthless without its freedom. and it wont be any different shithole than its neighbors if it werent for artists. and you two gher2anin bi 14 w 8. sorry tel3et l fashe fikoun bas.. HAS THE COUNTRY GONE MAD OR WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG? im pissed. |

Darine Hamzeh is Epic w I've never stopped loving Carmen Lebbos.. Would love to see that movie..
my 2 cents on the issue is that media (and everyone here) should stop using the word "ban". The movie wasn't banned in Lebanon, like Green Days & Hotel Beirut were. It was simply not picked by certain movie theaters since it tackled a sensitive topic that the Lebanese public is split on. It's kind of like how Brokeback Mountain was shown in some theaters but not in others. Popsi I hear and second you, but I believe your frustration is miss-directed here

Take it easy sweety, I get you're so pissed that you failed to read my posts correctly. Btw, jumping out of nowhere following a disagreement/dispute, accusing people of doing wrong, and telling them how to behave/what to do, in a hippy idealistic "Platonic" way, sounds also very "Lebanese" to me, ma heik?
I thought that you above all know how equally disdainful I am towards both 8 and 14 March, and how I judge things according to my own logic and not to some kind of brainwashed thinking that both those supporters feature. It looks that what I "thought" wasn't right after all... Ironically enough, I was defending that same "freedom" you came here preaching us about! I thought of replying on your BS that offended me, but it's not even worth it...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036789/..._joe/#47245180 Oh, and apparently to one dumb interviewer, we had a recent civil war. Why m I not surprised.. Last edited by wissarb; May 2nd, 2012 at 12:17 AM. |

Its a 2011 movie, considering it was nominated for the last oscars.
Wissarb- I think they are referring to the the armed conflict that happened in summer 2007.

I saw "Where Do We Go Now" 6 times. Thought it was brillant, funny and emotionally strong. Great actors. I can't wait for Nadine Labaki's next movie "Rock the Casbah" with Hiam Abbas and Lubna Azabal.

I love her. A great actress. She is getting great reviews for her performance in Bruno Dumont's "Camille Claudel 1915".
