Mississauga is indeed the best.

BTW, what are they constructing there at the city hall?

They are putting in new artificial turf, the grass was a nightmare.

True but the Square is being used far more often as a result not giving the grass enough time to recover. The city should have gone with the turf to start off with when the Square was redeveloped but hindsight is 20/20.

The buffalo statues were relocated to the southwest corner of LAC.

do you think that mississauga will eventualy become part of toronto (like etobicoke or scarborough)?? Even down the road, like in 30 years..

I saw a list of the best skylines and toronto was 7th (i think) and it said: 7. Toronto (Including Mississagua).

I dont know how I feel about that.. BAD, because we want OUR own city to be by itself as an independent self supporting city, not just "that city west of toronto". BUT GOOD, because its cool to know that maybe, JUST maybe, sauga's Marylin towers helped us pass even one space up from 8th to 7th place (for example). That feeling that we could have contributed in some way to help toronto out..thats cool eh? So mixed feelings about that.

If Mississauga became a part of toronto, would we still pride ourselves as mississaugans? etc.

OR, what do you guys think about a mississauga-brampton merge, to become possibly canada's third largest city (after TO and Montreal)?? The population would be just over calgary's.

I dont think so. Im pretty sure the city of mississauga would never share toronto's booming debt.

Mayor Hazel McCallion has brought up separating Mississauga from Peel Region to stand on its own. With this thought in mind it doesn't appear, under Hazel's leadership at least, that an amalgamation would even be considered much less actually happen.

I don't see that ever happening. Let Toronto and Brampton deal with their own issues.... we're perfectly happy on our own as Mississaugans

I don't see it happening as well and there is no need. Mississauga will be it's own city for a long time to come.

Yeah I heard about it too, (and I am optimistic that mississauga WONT be a part of toronto- we probably will never see it happen [thank god]), but I really wish we separated from peel. It has to do with the taxes mississaugans have to pay to bail out brampton/caledon.

This shot is amazing..think of how it'll look in 10 years..

Did anyone attend the LRT open house in Mississauga yesterday? (or the one in Brampton today).

I'm not sure if there would be any new information or not but I wanted to go anyway. I wasn't able to make it though so was hoping someone else did.

Nice shots Jason!

Will it be Bombardier selling all the LRT vehicles for mississauga and brampton?

John Stewart | Apr 30, 2012 - 8:40 AM

Morden Centre to open May 12
The new Garry W. Morden training centre for firefighters and emergency workers will host a community event slated for May 12.
The celebration of the $30 million facility that's named for the city's late fire chief will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature numerous demonstrations by firefighters, police and army reservists.
The facility is located on Ninth Line W., just north of the CN railway tracks. The City of Mississauga, Peel Regional Police and the Department of National Defence partnered to build it on 37 acres of property in the far northwest corner of the city.
When the City broke ground on the centre in May of 2010, Mayor Hazel McCallion commented: “Our first responders are the best in their field and the development of this facility will allow us to expand our expertise and better serve our residents.
"The late fire chief, Garry Morden, dedicated his life to building fire safety in our community. This new training centre is a testament to him and will allow us to keep his vision alive.”
Morden, 56, was Mississauga's fire chief for nearly a decade when he died of cancer in the fall of 2008.
