Not even 100m, what a shocker, and a waste of an excellent site in the city.

Agree adds to the blandness of that area but also the retail on the ground will be the usual Pie Face and s**t.

Practical, yes; outstanding and innovative, no.

Actually, the ground floor is housing a supermarket.

As for the height, in the current economy and with a fair amount of commercial space and residential coming online around the city, I think that it being a shorty isn't necessarily a bad thing. If this was a much larger tower (150 to 200m), could offering that extra space, in conjunction with similar developments, potentially impact on the business case for more impressive projects, say 111+222 for example? I don't know whether it would or wouldn't impact 111+222, but I'd know which I would prefer to see.

Apologies for the bump! Walked past this site last week, saw the sign and then I come on here and see nothing for over a year! Anyone know what's going on with this one?

We can only hope this project dies a quick death. A waste of a great site.

Speaking with another owner recently who took the 'equivalent new apartment' option instead of cash when being bought out, if they don't build resi, all the owners who took that option are going to sue.

Edit: realised some remarks could identify myself and the other owner.

Yes, what I'm saying is, when Devine originally bought out the owners, there was a choice between getting cash up front, cash plus a discount on another Devine property or being given an equivalent sized apartment in the French Quarter tower that was to replace the building. When the French Quarter project collapsed, they sold off the building however the contracts for apartment swaps weren't cancelled. So people who still have those contracts believe they would prevail in a suit if residential isn't built.

For those who don't already know and are interested, there's an advert in today's Prime Site showing both the approvals for this site.

*For sale by expressions of interest, closing Friday 23rd August*

Let's hope we get something really decent on this site now.

Funny. Step from the frying pan and into the fire!

At least Metro have been good with ground level reatil.

I wonder what Sunland will think about having a Metro development next door? I guess one of the questions is, as Metro have been going close to max heights wherever they've been building, how tall will this be?
