Germany has a lot of such signs - this one is on A3 motorway.
Interestingly, it is sometimes "Arnheim" (German form) and sometimes "Arnhem" (Dutch form) on the signs. Pic taken in April 2012

Arnheim is outdated. Apparently the Dutch and Germans have some kind of agreement to sign endonyms only. Which means the signs with Keulen, Arnheim and Nimwegen will disappear. The Dutch have also began posting Liège instead of Luik on some signs in the Maastricht area.

Anyway, I never heard about a further agreement between the countries. Any further details?

Not referring specifically to any cities, but this sign was interesting. This is at the marine terminal in Brindisi, Italy, where the ferries leave for Greece. The sign is in Turkish, presumably for Turkish nationals who are just passing through Greece ("Yunanistan") on their way home. "Yunanistan" literally means "Land of Johns", I think.

That road, in the Spanish side, last exit before the border has no indication ahead. This is, only indication about last exit. But outside the exit they indicate which is direction "Bragança"
(in the Spanish forum there is a thread about guess the road and that corner was one of them)

Yes it means "land of the Ionians". Ionians were one of the ancient Greek tribes (the others were the Dorians, the Achaeans and the Aeoleans). As Ionians had inhabited a large part of Western Asia Minor (ancient Athens was also an Ionian city), the name "Yunan" became synonym to "Greek" for the Turks, Arabs and Iranians.
