Pyrmont Bridge and Surrounds..

After dropping my Omani boyfriend off at the airport, I felt a bit lonely and a bit sad, whats a bored lonely Sydney boy armed with a DSLR to do?

Take some photo's of course!

Here are my latest, it's been a while.

[Sydney is the most photogenic place in the world, no matter what you are looking for.]

Enjoy! (and comments would be appreciated.)

Cheers,

mx

What's the difference between a "boyfriend" and a "husband"?

I was going to add a comment about the accommodation in the area Cull, but who can complain? A clean mattress, tyre pillow and some designer *western distributor* label plastic sheets? What more could anyone want. I guess the view would be worth it though!.

LOL

Good shots of the ANZAC Bridge. They really need to do something with White Bay as it turns into a wasteland.

Thanks fabs. You've been busy too I see. Sorry I haven't left any comments.

White bay is funny in a way, I'm sure something will be done with it. What did surprise me was that those grain silo's are well and truly in use.

Get down there yourself at some point, it's easy to get under the fences and the photo ops tremendous.

Take care,

mx

It is good to see previous inner city industrial areas get jazzed up, looks like that is starting to happen here.

Anzac Bridge looks great from a distance, but sadly not so good close up. A coat of paint would improve it hugely, why do they leave these things as bare concrete?

If you want the bridge to look bad, paint it! Within 18 months it'll never look good again for the remainder of its existence. The best that can realistically be done is to emboss or polish a surface into/onto the concrete.

As hornetfig pointed out, painting a bridge that is angular and made from reinforced concrete is just a complete and utter wast of money. The amount of traffic that flows across it would make it filthy in under a week. It's just pollution.

Have you ever been up close to it or over it? It's not strait or flat, the design is unique in that they had to find a design that could cope with different structural stresses in odd places that could never have been done with a standard design.

And even after they thought they had finished it they had to find ingenious methods to balance it all to keep it's strenth up - the is nothing symmetrical about it which is why I love it.

What is so awful about bare concrete? It's honest.
